On Thursday, March 20, 2025, Fritz Winter Eisengießerei welcomed Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to the Stadtallendorf site. The event kicked off with an exchange with Managing Directors Ralf von Hörsten and Dr. Axel Drösser, Head of Development Thomas von Reth and Sebastian Hofmann, Head of Training and Further Education.
One of the highlights was the Federal President's visit to the apprentice workshop, where he talked to the apprentices about their activities. The trainees explain how they experienced the visit in the video at the end of this news item. During the subsequent tour of the new electric crucible furnace system, Frank-Walter Steinmeier gained an insight into the iron foundry's measures to reduce CO₂ emissions and was able to experience the processing of molten iron up close. On the way back, the Federal President also took time to chat with colleagues from the plant fire department. At the end, he was presented with a replica brake disk from the apprentice workshop - a special memento of his visit.
