Success that is unstoppable
One milestone after another. Already one year after the first ground-breaking, the US-plant of Fritz Winter experienced its ceremonial inauguration. Now, the millionth brake disc left the line.
“This is really an incredible step for Fritz Winter North America and would not have been possible without the support of our employees”, says Darryl Konsler, CEO FW NA.
Fritz Winter decided the investment for this plant in Kentucky due to the trend to global platforms in the automotive industry, among other reasons. As internationally acting automotive manufacturers wish to offer globally identical vehicles with highest quality standards to their customers, also the suppliers have to adjust to the challenges of the globalization.
On the brake disc market which is very important for Fritz Winter, only few manufacturers are in the position to meet the customer requirement for a local production with a global service “from one source”. The development of new innovative products as well as the determination of global standards in the quality management are still centrally performed at Stadtallendorf.
“The development of our Franklin plant is still an important part of our globalization strategy”, says Jörg Rumikewitz, CEO FW.
The new construction in Kentucky was performed on an area of 25.000m2, the volume of investment amounted to more than 100 million Euro. In the meantime, it was already possible to integrate a capacity expansion in the melting shop into the production flow.
