Melting

Fritz Winter has several unlined cupola furnaces with a total melting capacity of more than 1,500 tonnes per day.

In addition, there are various induction crucible furnaces for melting and processing of alloys and a large number of induction holding furnaces for the storage and heat preservation of the liquid iron.

Core production

The core moulding shops are geared to match the corresponding moulding lines and the specially assigned cast iron component groups.

All economically and technically significant core production methods are used on over 100 different installations.

The process steps of blasting, mounting and processing are synchronised and largely automated.

Moulding

Two box-less high pressure moulding lines, fife high pressure moulding lines with boxes, and two cold resin moulding lines offer a high degree of flexibility for the production of different size moulds.

On the basis of the component similarity and the similarity of the production processes, the moulding lines are optimised for the respective product groups.

Fritz Winter uses this segmentation of production as the basis for economic manufacture required by our customers.  

Finishing / processing of castings

State-of-the-art equipment is used for core removal, blasting, cleaning, target milling, heat treatment and surface processing of the cast iron components in the finishing departments.

A particularly well developed focus of Fritz Winter’s capability lies in mechanical processing, in which highly modern processing equipment is used to pre-process and finish cast iron parts according to the customer's requirements.
